OUT TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE!
The Backers’ Cabaret was a huge success and we could not be more excited about the outcome. “Our hope was to raise $10,000, but the theater exceeded that goal by raising $10,500“, says Managing Director, Martin Childers. The event, attended by almost 100 people, all committed fans of Island City Stage, was full of delicious food provided by Tastebuds Catering, a silent and lively live auction with auctioneer Rick Karlin, and then the main event, The Backers’ Cabaret. The performers included Mia Matthews, Mike Westrich, Ann Marie Olson, Darcy Hernandez-Gil, Andy Rogow, and Elijah Word performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast. The audience responded with rousing applause for each new number.
This event was made possible by the generous support of David L. Starkey & Ari Sumargo, Ralph Stivali, Home Instead Senior Care, Tastebuds Fine Catering & Event Productions, and an Anonymous Donor. Plans are underway for next season’s event scheduled for March 18, 2018.
