“Keeping Up Appearances Ain’t Easy” Follow the weekly updates!

Our first day started off with a bang! Staff and volunteers pulled all the lighting from the grid about the stage and seating. All the lighting instruments will be cleaned and re-installed after other projects are complete.

One Wednesday, the paint crew began by power-washing the entire building then priming it with a clear coat. Over the weekend, the sign face was broken during the storm but no worries, it was only temporary until we got this project underway.

By Wednesday evening, the stucco was all patched and paint ready to be applied. Yes, that awning with Mainstage will be going away.

On Wednesday the electricians also began work and as the theatre is being rewired, all power was shut down. On Thursday, the roofers arrived (not part of the renovations project but important to have a good roof). Not only is the theatre sitting in the dark but the roofing materials fall through during the reroofing process. It’s all a mess but important things are being kept safe.

Because the roofers need a few days to finish, the painters won’t return until Monday. Come back for more in a few days!

It’s Thursday at 5 pm and the lights and HVAC are back on! The electrical panels have been relocated from the back wall to an accessible spot near the dressing room. Why is this important? Electrical issues can come up during shows plus we were always trying to hide these from audience site with set, etc.
