Turning Tables is two one act plays, set in the same apartment, located in a Jewish neighborhood in a northern city. In the first play, set in the early 1960s, the son of an elderly couple helps them with last minute preparations as they move out of the apartment they’ve lived in all their married lives. In act two, it’s same apartment, now a condo in a now trendy, up and coming neighborhood and a gay couple of disparate ages is moving in.
The staged reading was held as a benefit for Island City Stage in March 2019.
